Are you a dedicated graduate eager to gain valuable experience in the field of Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have a passion for empowering children to achieve their fullest potential?

This role is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing a career as a SEN Teacher or Speech and Language Therapist while making a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners.

About the Role

This position involves working in a specialized educational environment catering to children aged 4-16 with significant learning challenges. Many of these students experience speech, language, and communication difficulties, alongside diagnoses of Autism.

As a Graduate Support Assistant, you will collaborate closely with a team of educators, therapists, and support staff to implement targeted interventions designed to enhance students' learning, development, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the classroom teacher in delivering effective learning experiences.
  • Provide behavioral and emotional support to students.

  • Establish strong, trusting relationships with students.
  • Adopt a practical approach to address individual learning requirements.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate compassion and active listening abilities.
  • Work with students in both one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students in accordance with established protocols.
  • Assist with personal care as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings and pursue ongoing professional development.

While prior experience is not mandatory, candidates should show a genuine interest in working with children with special educational needs.

Additional Information:

  • Comprehensive training and support will be provided.
  • Competitive daily rate of £80-£85, working Monday to Friday.
  • Term-time only position.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK is required.

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain essential experience while contributing positively to the educational journey of children with diverse needs.
