About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Site Manager to join our team at Vistry Group PLC. As a key member of our site operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the site management team in the day-to-day control of the site, including management and delivery of project works.
  • Manage and coordinate the activities of sub-contractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress.
  • Ensure that all site activities are carried out in accordance with the company's safety policy and procedures.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Manage site cleanliness and presentation, ensuring that the site is maintained to a high standard at all times.
  • Responsible for the successful completion of the overall project, including managing the day-to-day delivery of construction projects, quality, time, procurement, and contractors.
  • Lead by example, managing the site team and ensuring that all site activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures and policies.
  • Collaborate with the project surveyor to ensure that commercial implications and drivers within the construction process are understood and incorporated into decision-making.
  • Communicate effectively with the contract manager to ensure that they are fully aware of project progress and are notified of all financial, specification, and time risks.

Requirements

  • SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid, and Scaffold inspection qualification.
  • Self-sufficient, able to work independently, and deliver projects with some support from visiting contracts manager.
  • A solid understanding of the construction process, including problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work on any project secured by the business within a reasonable locality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with the site team, contractors, and other stakeholders.
