About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join our team at Connect2Luton, a recruitment managed service for Luton Borough Council. As a Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the Council's housing services comply with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Compliance: Support the Project Manager in maintaining key action and improvement plans, liaising with key managers across the service to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Discovery and Analysis: Undertake discovery and analysis across the service to inform the improvement programme, identifying areas for improvement and developing recommendations.
  • Research and Recommendations: Conduct research into good practice and the findings of RSH inspections, making recommendations based on these findings to improve compliance.
  • Housing Ombudsman Monitoring: Monitor Housing Ombudsman findings, including maladministration and severe maladministration cases, and communicate these findings and implications to the housing service.
  • Liaison and Communication: Act as a liaison point for tenant representative groups, including Tenant Board and Tenant Scrutiny Panel, and assist with identifying training needs across the service.
  • Policy and Procedure Management: Develop and maintain a database of policies and procedures for the housing service, ensuring regular updates and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Evidence Management: Manage a database of evidence from across the service in support of regulatory requirements, including the RSH and Consumer Standards.
  • Communication and Updates: Prepare updates and communications for all audiences across housing services, including residents, on regulation, inspection, and Housing Ombudsman findings.
