As a Legal Officer in the Royal Air Force, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the organization within the frameworks of rules and regulations. Your responsibilities will include advising military commanders and staff on domestic and international humanitarian law, as well as developing and drafting legislation related to the Armed Forces.
Key Responsibilities:- Advise on domestic and international humanitarian law
- Develop and draft legislation related to the Armed Forces
- Act as Legal Adviser to service inquiry panels
- Advocate for the defence or prosecution at Courts Martial and Service Civilian Courts
- Provide legal training across the full range of ranks and branches of the RAF
- Be a member of the Bar of England and Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland, with completed pupillage
- Have at least 18 months post-qualification experience
- Hold a full UK driving license
- Be a citizen of the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland, holder of dual UK/other nationality, or have been a Commonwealth citizen since birth
