About the Role

Carr Gomm is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as an Appropriate Adult. This role involves providing communication support to vulnerable individuals within the Criminal Justice System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support individuals with mental disorders, learning disabilities, dementia, autism, and acquired brain injuries during police investigations and other investigatory processes.
  • Ensure that individuals are not disadvantaged by their mental disorder during any police process.
  • Work independently, providing a completely impartial service.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals, police officers, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Experience in the field of mental health, learning disabilities, dementia, autism, and/or acquired brain injuries.
  • Ability to work under pressure, sometimes in challenging environments.
  • Reliability and a non-judgmental attitude.
  • Acknowledge confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries.
