About the Role

Carr Gomm is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Appropriate Adults in Dundee, working on a self-employed basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide communication support to vulnerable victims, witnesses, suspects, and accused persons aged 16 and over during police investigations and other investigatory bodies.
  • Ensure that individuals with mental disorders are not disadvantaged by their condition during the police process.
  • Work independently from the Police to provide a neutral and non-judgmental service.
Requirements
  • Availability to be called upon at any time during the day/night, in line with rota requirements.
  • Ability to attend any call-out within one and a half hours of receiving the request.
  • Experience in the field of mental health, learning disabilities, dementia, autism, and/or acquired brain injuries.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in potentially oppressive environments.
  • Reliability and a non-judgmental attitude.
  • Acknowledgment of confidentiality.
