Carr Gomm is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as an Appropriate Adult Service Coordinator. This role is a unique opportunity to provide communication support to vulnerable individuals within the Criminal Justice System.
Key Responsibilities- Provide independent communication support to vulnerable victims, witnesses, suspects, and accused persons aged 16 and over during police investigations and other investigatory bodies.
- Ensure that individuals with mental disorders are not disadvantaged by their condition during the police process.
- Work collaboratively with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders to provide effective support.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including police officers, solicitors, and other professionals.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in mental health, learning disabilities, dementia, and other relevant areas.
- Experience in the field of mental health, learning disabilities, dementia, autism, and/or acquired brain injuries.
- Ability to work under pressure, sometimes in challenging environments.
- Reliability and a non-judgmental attitude.
- Acknowledge confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries.
- Availability to attend call-outs within one and a half hours of receiving a request.
