About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Unity City Academy. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching staff in the development and education of pupils, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 SEN support to pupils, including the provision of specialist skills as appropriate.
  • Assist teaching staff in the development and education of pupils, including planning and delivering lessons.
  • Support pupils with their academic and personal needs, including literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for pupils with SEN.
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and teaching staff to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with SEN children/young people.
  • Experience working within an educational environment.
  • Maths and English at GCSE C or Level 2 functional skills is essential.
  • A teaching assistant or SEN-based qualification would be advantageous.
  • Patience, compassion, and an ability to motivate and communicate effectively with pupils and staff is also required.
