Since the early days, we’ve grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. This resonates in our vision of **‘Your Life, Your Choice’** and our strategy **‘Best Lives Possible’.**
We have strong values and we’re proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over 100 national and regional awards
We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going ‘the extra mile’ for the people we support and in return, we go the extra mile for them by **investing in pay, recognition, wellbeing and continued professional and personal development.** We will provide you with all the training, support and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us.
**Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role**:
We need kind, fun, empathic, patient staff to provide person-centred support to individuals who are living here.
We want everyone who accesses our services to have the opportunity to live the best life possible. You will be supporting people to work towards outcomes, enabling them to maintain independence.
You will encourage and support people to engage in the local community, clubs, cinema, shows, days out, gym, pub lunches shopping, and activities of our personal choice. We have aspiring DJs, gardeners, and big fans of football, cooking, and animals here and we are looking for people to support with a range of activities for all the residents.
You will support a community within The Shore itself, where there are long-standing friendships, and you will support in maintaining these relationships.
We will be closely working with new partnerships, exciting new prospects, and activities for the entire community to enjoy.
The Shore is a supported living project for 10 individuals with learning disabilities and mental health care and support needs.
The property is set in a built-up area, with parking, landscaped gardens, a large communal area, and large open-plan 1 bedroom apartments.
The property is in the market town of Ormesby, there are regular buses linking the town with Middlesbrough, Whitby, and Guisborough.
We live within a short walking distance from the local supermarkets and busy marketplace which contains shops and a range of cafes, pubs, and takeaways. We are not far from the well-known Ormesby Hall.
We will have a core background team on duty 24/7 so there is overnight shifts and we will provide additional 1:1 support, ranging from personal care, housekeeping, and meals to days out and trips to the shops and activities.

We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience. This is why **we're really passionate about recruiting to individuals’ values **and **we recruit people from all walks of life**; From people with vast experience in a support worker or care assistant role, from people with lived experiences who may have friends or relatives with disabilities or have looked after older relatives, to people with no experience at all.
