About The Role

Exciting opportunity to join the team at Saha as a Community Engagement Specialist on a fixed-term contract.

The Community Engagement Specialist will collaborate closely with the team and residents to enhance the community initiatives at Saha, aiming to improve health, social, and welfare outcomes for the service users. This role will focus on both internal community activities and outreach efforts, increasing Saha's visibility within the local area. The specialist will also creatively engage with partner organizations that offer meaningful activities, educational programs, training, and health and wellness opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborating with residents to facilitate the creation and implementation of a program of engaging in-house activities tailored to client needs and aspirations.
  • Supporting the service manager and support staff in amplifying the residents' voices in all aspects of Saha's operations.
  • Identifying and partnering with agencies and organizations that provide valuable activities, education, training, and employment opportunities relevant to individual client needs.
  • Engaging with clients and the local community through various platforms to promote activities and maintain communication with service users.
  • Working alongside Support Workers to address feelings of isolation and social exclusion among clients, ensuring a comprehensive support package is in place to encourage community involvement and participation in relevant programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated and proactive with a positive attitude.
  • Experience or knowledge in working with vulnerable populations or supporting individuals facing challenges.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex and challenging situations effectively.
  • A successful track record of collaboration with local community and voluntary sectors, including recruiting and supporting volunteers.
  • Experience in fundraising at the community level.
  • Ability to build trusting, professional relationships and demonstrate resilience.
  • An asset-based approach to empowering individuals to develop their skills and strengths.
