Position Overview

You will work in collaboration with law enforcement in custody facilities, providing care for individuals in detention.

This role involves covering custody facilities around the clock to ensure the well-being of detainees, following a schedule agreed upon with our partners.

  • Annual salary of £40,000
  • £1,000 bonus upon completion of one year of service
  • Full-time position with fixed shifts: Day shifts from 06:45 to 19:00 and night shifts from 18:45 to 07:00, following a 4 on, 4 off team rota pattern. A rolling rota is available for two years in advance.
  • Estimated average overtime of £3,500 per year
  • Registration fees for NMC/HCPC covered
  • No prior forensic experience is necessary as comprehensive training will be provided.

The role requires adaptability to work not only in your designated custody suite but also across a specified region within the police custody facilities.

Candidate Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN, RGN) or Registered Mental Nurse (RMN with dual registration) with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience at Band 5
  • Paramedic with at least 2 years post-qualification experience
  • A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in a patient-facing role within relevant fields such as General Practice, A&E, Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, Walk-in Centres, Substance Misuse Services, Prison Healthcare, or Ambulance Service

Vetting Requirements

Essential

  • Valid Driving Licence
  • Must have been a UK resident for at least 3 years with no gaps of more than 3 months out of the country
  • All candidates will undergo Police Vetting
