Position Overview

Are you a committed nursing professional eager to create a meaningful impact? Induction and Training

Successful applicants will participate in a comprehensive two-week orientation program, which includes a week of foundational training followed by a week of shadowing experienced staff.

Compensation

The annual salary for this full-time role is £37,000, complemented by an attractive incentive scheme for permanent employees. This includes double pay for shifts worked, as well as an incentive payment of £250 for every eight shifts completed within an eight-week period, or £125 for every four shifts.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of two years of relevant nursing experience is required.

Work Schedule

The role involves a night shift pattern of two shifts followed by six days off, allowing for effective personal time management and rest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough clinical evaluations and provide care to individuals detained by law enforcement or other agencies, assessing their fitness for detention, interviews, releases, or transfers.
  • Administer healthcare interventions for minor ailments or injuries and take necessary actions or referrals for more serious conditions.
  • Perform forensic examinations on individuals in police custody to document injuries and, if necessary, provide an opinion on the cause of injuries or collect DNA evidence.
  • Conduct forensic examinations of police personnel injured in the line of duty, documenting injuries and managing care appropriately.
  • Collect specimens as mandated by legislation.
  • Prepare written statements as required.
  • Following appropriate training, attend court or tribunal sessions as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records.
  • Assess and manage alcohol and drug intoxication and withdrawal.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and safeguarding pathways.
  • Support the clinical governance agenda of the organization.
  • Administer medications in accordance with patient group directions (PGDs) and patient treatment protocols (PTPs).
