Position Overview...

In the role of Warehouse Operative at Soho House, you will manage and process all food and beverage inventory ordered for the establishment. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the cleanliness of storage areas, back landings, dry storage, wash areas, chef storage, and freight elevators. A successful Warehouse Operative will facilitate an efficient flow of goods, which encompasses documenting, storing, locating, and distributing stock for various departments. Duties also involve inspecting and sorting shipments while keeping track of invoices to verify order accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive all perishable and non-perishable food and beverage orders, verifying and documenting the quantities received for all items.
  • Assist vendors and management in receiving additional supplies as necessary
  • Inspect received goods (quality and quantity) and reject any unacceptable items
  • Distribute items according to food safety regulations and storage protocols.
  • Ensure proper FIFO (First In, First Out) practices in walk-ins and freezers
  • Conduct inventory checks as directed and report findings to management
  • Complete daily checklists with the overnight porter
  • Sanitize all bar storage areas to maintain a safe environment for consumables
  • Prepare ingredients for kitchen needs
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or managers.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a similar position, preferably with kitchen experience
  • Proficient in reading and writing English, with the ability to read labels and follow safety instructions.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
  • Capable of working effectively under time constraints and meeting deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to grasp, turn, and hold objects by hand
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours
  • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch, and climb as necessary
Working Hours:
  • Shifts will vary across the week, including evenings, weekends, and opening & closing shifts
  • Average weekly hours range from 32 to 45 hours
