About the Role

The Grange Therapeutic School is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Literacy and Numeracy Intervention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate literacy and numeracy interventions for students, working individually or in small groups.
  • Collaborate with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to identify students who require additional support.
  • Develop and deliver training to staff to improve literacy and numeracy skills across the school.
  • Conduct data analysis and produce reports to inform teaching and learning strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in literacy and numeracy interventions and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Support the promotion of reading across the school and participate in school-wide activities as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience working with students with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
  • Strong understanding of SEN and ability to adapt interventions to meet individual needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with challenging students.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of mental health needs and ability to provide support.
