About the Role
We are seeking a Support Line Officer to join our Information and Support Team. As a Support Line Officer, you will play a vital role in providing personalized support to individuals affected by terminal illness, their families, and friends. You will be responsible for responding to a variety of enquiries, addressing emotional concerns, and directing individuals to the resources they need.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to enquiries from individuals affected by terminal illness, their families, and friends, addressing practical and emotional concerns.
- Utilize resources available through the Marie Curie Information and Support Service to address enquiries and direct individuals to the support they require.
- Apply relevant safeguarding procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of individuals contacting the helpline.
- Accurately record information into the database, ensuring data quality and data protection guidelines.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills and a warm, caring, and compassionate approach.
- A genuine interest in helping others, with patience, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering an excellent customer experience.
- Ability to work in a challenging environment, with a patient and resilient approach.
- Background in office administration or customer service experience, preferably in a charity, health, or social care setting.
- Experience in a customer care or helpline role is beneficial.
