About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Section Engineer to join our team at Sphere Solutions. As a key member of our data center project team, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering of civil infrastructure within a specific section of work on our 400.M data center project in South Wales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setting out, leveling, and surveying the site to ensure accurate measurements and layouts.
  • Verifying plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy of calculations and ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials, ensuring they meet project requirements.
  • Liaising with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Carrying out daily measures and assisting the site supervisor in recording work progress.
  • Collaborating with the Project Manager to produce ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans) and maintaining quality control on site.
  • Preparing reports and managing permit requests as necessary.
  • Raising any unexpected technical difficulties and working closely with the Project Manager to resolve them.
Requirements
  • Degree or HND in a construction-related or engineering discipline.
  • CSCS card and SMSTS certification.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and excellent working knowledge of GPS & Total Station.
