Job Summary

Spire Healthcare is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Health and Safety Coordinator to join their team. As a key member of the Health and Safety department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the provision of high-quality and safe care and services at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement the delivery of Health and Safety at the facility, working closely with the Health and Safety Manager to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Health and Safety Manager in maintaining the Health and Safety Management System folder, including collating and analyzing data on incidents and near misses.
  • Update local health and safety arrangements and policies as required, and distribute them throughout the facility.
  • Maintain the Hospital Wide Action Plan spreadsheet, following up on outstanding actions as directed by the Health and Safety Manager.
  • Administer Health and Safety Flash alerts, responding to the central health and safety team within the required timeframe and collating departmental responses.
  • Manage Health and Safety Training records, assist with course registration, and issue certificates as required.
  • Advise the Health and Safety Manager on any actions or risk assessments that are not being managed in a timely manner.
  • Take minutes and distribute minutes of all Health and Safety meetings, including Water, Fire, Waste management, and Safety Representatives meetings.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in the healthcare industry or a similar customer-oriented organization.
  • Ideal candidate will have 3 years of administration experience.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety and risk issues and legislation.
  • Competent user of the MS Office suite of products to meet the requirements of the role.
  • Ability to understand and manage effectively the impact of competing pressures and conflicting priorities.
  • Proactive and able to self-motivate.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal and team working skills.
  • Car driver ideally.
