About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Retail Category Sales Specialist to join our team at Zero Surplus. As a key member of our category management team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and category development across our portfolio of brands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse and interpret data from various sources, including Nielsen, Kantar, and GfK, to identify key insights and trends that inform sales strategies and category development initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including category managers, sales teams, and marketing professionals, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Work closely with external stakeholders, including retailers and suppliers, to understand their needs and preferences, and to develop tailored sales and category development plans.
  • Present compelling sales and category development plans to retailers and other stakeholders, using data-driven insights and persuasive storytelling.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including sales performance, distribution, and market share, to inform business decisions and drive growth.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in category management, sales, or a related field, with a strong understanding of the FMCG and retail sectors.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with intermediate to advanced PowerPoint skills also beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and persuade stakeholders at all levels.
