This position presents an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a significant project within the nuclear sector. The collaborative efforts across various disciplines aim to streamline the execution of essential Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (MEH) services, along with cabling and related support systems. This integrated approach facilitates seamless cooperation among contractors to ensure the effective installation of cabling and piping within the expansive infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
As a Lifting Engineer – Appointed Person, your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating with the planning team to prioritize lifting operations and necessary preparatory tasks.
  • Developing comprehensive Processes and Procedures to manage MEHA lifting activities, ensuring thorough examination of lifting equipment and accessories.
  • Creating lift plans in compliance with the NNB Management of Lifting Operations Standard.
  • Selecting suitable lifting accessories, determining their attachment methods, and implementing protective measures to prevent damage.
  • Conducting briefings for all lifting and rigging personnel to ensure clarity on the safe work systems outlined in the lift plan.
  • Organizing resources to designate a Lift/Rigging Supervisor responsible for overseeing operations in accordance with the lift plan.
  • Identifying and assessing hazards within the operational area.

This role entails manual tasks, which may involve lifting, bending, tool usage, or prolonged standing.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Proficient in lift planning for Mobile, Crawler, and Tower cranes.
  • Experience in planning rigging operations.
  • Competent in AutoCAD.
  • Preferred background in nuclear power projects.
  • Experience in major construction initiatives.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, particularly in Joint Ventures.

Required Certifications

  • CPCS A61 Appointed Person (Blue Card).
  • ECITB Appointed Person Moving Loads and TAP01 (Preferred).
  • NVQ Level 3 in Steel Erecting/Moving Loads.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this position.
