About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced lecturer to join our team at Bradford College as a Construction Trades Lecturer in our 14-16 Alternative Provision. Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and assess students on Construction trade courses, developing and delivering high-quality learning materials and activities.
  • Participate in the development of the curriculum, ensuring it is relevant, engaging, and meets the needs of our students.
  • Contribute to the enrolment, induction, monitoring, profiling, and initial assessment of students on college courses.
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans, providing support and guidance to students to drive their progress and achievement.
  • Take responsibility for student academic progress, wellbeing, and careers, ensuring they reach their full potential.
  • Seek out and respond to student voice, recognizing students as primary stakeholders in their learning.
  • Supervise and manage students on placements and offsite visits, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Implement and promote college regulations, policies, and procedures, maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Undertake invigilation duties, ensuring the integrity of assessments and exams.
  • Participate in the maintenance and promotion of close links with employers and training agencies, enhancing opportunities for students.
  • Provide regular feedback and progress reports to parents and employers, keeping them informed of student achievement and progress.
  • Assist the departmental management team with costings and control of materials and equipment, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Undertake additional duties as required, contributing to the smooth operation of the department and college.
Requirements
  • GCSE A*- C or nationally recognized level 2 qualification in Maths or equivalent.
  • GCSE A*- C or nationally recognized level 2 qualification in English or equivalent.
  • Relevant teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PSET).
  • A Level 3 qualification in a related area.
  • Experience of successful teaching and training, with evidence of performance and achievement.
  • Experience of high-quality teaching within a school/FE environment or equivalent related industrial experience.
  • Experience of designing and delivering high-quality inclusive teaching and learning activities.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of content and methods of teaching and/or supporting learning, including the value and use of learning technologies.
  • A comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of a relevant subject area.
  • Experience of improving the learning environment, teaching, and/or assessment and feedback methods.
  • Experience of student pastoral care and disciplinary procedures.
