Your Role as Strategic Finance Partner:

Collaborating closely with the UK finance leader, you will be instrumental in the commercial decision-making framework. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, taking full ownership of the UK finance commercial operations while consistently identifying enhancements and fostering both individual and departmental transformation.

  • Partnering with colleagues to ensure project success and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Ensuring precise project provisions are calculated monthly, in accordance with IFRS15 accounting standards.
  • Maintaining accurate Project Trackers and providing a weekly Contract Summary to the Head of Service Operations, emphasizing significant movements and variances.
  • Offering financial support to the Head of Service Operations and Project Managers as required.
  • Managing the financial aspects of Life Cycle Services projects, including account reconciliations, advance payments, and project completion stages, in collaboration with the Life Cycle Service team.
  • Generating all Sales Orders and Maintenance Contract Sales Orders, overseeing all New Machine project invoices and Purchase Orders.
  • Leading and facilitating monthly Project Reviews with stakeholders, which includes preparing the monthly reporting package for each project, highlighting any financial risks or opportunities.
  • Conducting the Monthly Commercial Meeting with stakeholders, summarizing the status of all ongoing projects.
  • Preparing quarterly balance sheet reconciliations for Accrued Income, Deferred Income, Advanced Payment Ledgers, and Work in Progress.
  • Implementing process and reporting enhancements that drive efficiency by transitioning manual reporting to software-based solutions.
  • Utilizing advanced data analysis techniques to derive insights from financial and operational data, empowering the Finance team to make informed decisions and enhance business performance.
  • Overseeing the Commercial Finance Assistant.
  • Performing ad hoc duties as necessary.

To qualify for this position, you should possess proven experience as a business partner with a focus on commercial activities. A qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) is essential, along with substantial project accounting experience and a solid understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards (preferably IFRS 15).

Exceptional Excel skills, including macros and Power BI proficiency, are required, along with the ability to provide detailed analytics and interpret complex financial data clearly and concisely.

With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to data accuracy, you should also demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication across all organizational levels.
