About the Role

Your role as a Commercial Finance Business Partner at Kenton Black Ltd:

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure accurate financial reporting for all new machine projects and maintenance contracts, adhering to group accounting policies and IFRS15 guidelines.
  2. Collaborate with colleagues to drive commercial success and deliver projects within budget.
  3. Calculate and manage project provisions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS15.
  4. Provide weekly Contract Summaries to the Head of Service Operations, highlighting key movements and variances.
  5. Support the Head of Service Operations and Project Managers financially as needed.
  6. Oversee the financial management of Life Cycle Services, including account reconciliation, down payments, and project stage completion.
  7. Create Sales Orders and Maintenance Contract Sales Orders, with financial oversight of New Machine project invoices and Purchase Orders.
  8. Host and manage monthly Project Reviews, preparing a reporting pack highlighting financial threats or opportunities.
  9. Host the Monthly Commercial Meeting, summarizing ongoing projects.
  10. Prepare quarterly balance sheet reconciliations for Accrued Income, Deferred Income, Advanced Payment Ledgers, and Work in Progress.
  11. Implement process improvements, driving efficiency through software-based solutions.
  12. Utilize advanced data analysis techniques to extract insights from financial and operational data, informing business decisions and driving performance.
  13. Line management responsibility for the Commercial Finance Assistant.
  14. Perform ad hoc duties as required.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience as a business partner, with a focus on commercial activity.
    • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) with sound project accounting experience and strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards (IFRS 15 preferred).
    • Excellent Excel skills, including macros and Power BI, with the ability to provide detailed analytics and interpret complex financial data.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication across all levels of the business.
    • Commitment to maintaining data accuracy and attention to detail.
