Commercial Finance Business Partner

Kenton Black Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Finance Business Partner to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in driving business performance and growth.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Project Accounting: Ensure accurate accounting for new machine projects and maintenance contracts, meeting group reporting requirements and accounting policies.
  • Commercial Success: Collaborate with colleagues to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet commercial objectives.
  • Financial Provisions: Calculate accurate project provisions monthly, adhering to IFRS15 guidelines.
  • Contract Management: Provide weekly Contract Summaries to the Head of Service Operations, highlighting important movements and variances.
  • Financial Support: Assist the Head of Service Operations and Project Managers with financial matters as needed.
  • Life Cycle Services: Manage financial aspects of Life Cycle Services work, including account reconciliation, down payments, and project stage completion.
  • Sales Order Management: Create Sales Orders and Maintenance Contract Sales Orders, with financial oversight of new machine project invoices and Purchase Orders.
  • Project Reviews: Host monthly Project Reviews with stakeholders, preparing a reporting pack highlighting financial threats or opportunities.
  • Commercial Meetings: Host the Monthly Commercial Meeting with stakeholders, summarizing ongoing projects.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare quarterly balance sheet reconciliations for Accrued Income, Deferred Income, Advanced Payment Ledgers, and Work in Progress.
  • Process Improvement: Implement process and reporting improvements to drive efficiency, moving manual reporting to software-based solutions.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize advanced data analysis techniques to extract insights from financial and operational data, informing business decisions and driving performance.
  • Line Management: Provide line management support to the Commercial Finance Assistant.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a business partner, with a focus on commercial activity.
  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Sound project accounting experience, with a strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards (IFRS 15 preferred).
  • Excellent Excel skills, including macros and Power BI.
  • Ability to provide detailed analytics and interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication across all levels of the business.
