Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Heidelberg Materials AG. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining control of the MRL wagon fleet, working closely with Freightliner Companies.
Key Responsibilities- Create and deliver the weekly train plan, ensuring seamless coordination with our Supply Chain Partners;
- Accurately log and report on daily train movements and concerns;
- Input correct data to generate invoices and reports;
- Record and prepare transactional data for the Admin and Management Team;
- Prepare daily trip sheets to ensure loading requirements are met;
- Advise each depot of the weekly train plan, addressing any issues promptly and arranging alternative solutions;
- Liaise with Parent companies and supply chain staff to optimize service delivery and create value for MRL and the parents;
- Provide assistance and advice to customers as needed;
- Organize defective wagon assisted offloads and stranded wagon recovery;
- Ensure sufficient wagon capacity at the correct loading sources to meet customer demand;
- Maintain up-to-date records on wagon availability, stranded wagons, and defective wagon numbers;
- Provide accurate information on stranded wagon recovery performance to enable penalties to be charged where necessary;
- Achieve first-class service levels to meet customer expectations;
- Act as the first point of contact for all queries within the Operations office.
We offer a competitive salary of £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, along with a range of benefits, including a bonus scheme, generous pension schemes, life assurance, and a comprehensive compensation package.
