Job Summary:

The Gregory Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to lead our Shepton Mallet operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the Pallet Networks, overseeing transport activities, and ensuring operational and legal compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Pallet Networks, including responsibility for all operational and legal compliance.
  • Oversee the resourcing, organizing, and managing of transport activities.
  • Lead and motivate a team of circa 60, including drivers, warehouse, and office staff.
  • Responsibility for circa 35 vehicles operating day and night.
  • Perform regular meetings with Transport Manager and Supervisors to ensure all areas of vehicle & driver legal compliance, Health and Safety, and transport planning are monitored, reviewed, and any actions required are in place.
  • Manage and be the key point of contact for all customers, developing and growing the business.
  • Set objectives and measure relevant financial and operational KPI's to General Manager.
  • Ensure Budget constraints are met and assist in production of future Budgets.
  • Identify peaks and troughs within the Business Area and identify areas of improvement.
  • Identify any areas that are underperforming and put in place strategy plans for improvement.
  • Monitor and audit Health and Safety and compliance.
  • Produce statistics as required for customer meetings.
  • Conduct annual PDR interviews with direct reports.

Requirements:

  • Must hold international or national CPC qualification and previous Transport Management experience.
  • Have a good understanding of legal compliance, driver's hours, and WTD's.
  • Track record of leading successful change.
  • Proven experience in customer relationship management.
  • Have managed financial budgets and annual Profit and Loss responsibility.
  • Strong evidence of management skills and making key business decisions.
  • Capability to advise and motivate team to deliver results for the business.
  • Ability to present to Senior Key contacts within the business and to external customers.
  • Must be able to be flexible in the role due to operating hours and customer demands.
  • Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • IT literate including MS Office. Strong analytic ability in review data and reports.

  • Salary for Warehouse Operations Manager is between £50,000 - £55,000, depending on experience.
