Operations Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager to join our team at Heidelberg Materials AG. As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining control of the MRL wagon fleet, working closely with our supply chain partners and freight companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a weekly train plan, ensuring seamless coordination with our supply chain partners;
- Accurately log and report on daily train movements and concerns, providing timely updates to the management team;
- Input accurate data to generate invoices and reports, ensuring compliance with company policies;
- Record and prepare transactional data for the administration and management teams, as required;
- Prepare daily trip sheets for each quarry, ensuring loading requirements are met and customer demands are satisfied;
- Communicate the weekly train plan to each depot, addressing any issues promptly and arranging alternative arrangements as needed;
- Liaise with parent companies and supply chain staff to ensure optimal service delivery, creating value for MRL and the parents;
- Provide assistance and advice to customers as required, ensuring first-class service levels are maintained;
- Organize defective wagon assisted offloads and stranded wagon recovery, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency;
- Monitor and maintain up-to-date records on wagon availability, stranded wagons, and defective wagon numbers;
- Provide accurate information on stranded wagon recovery performance, enabling penalties to be charged where necessary;
- Achieve first-class service levels to meet customer expectations, serving as the primary point of contact for all queries within the Operations office.
