Position: Skilled Welder and Fabricator
Our client, a reputable manufacturing firm specializing in metal fabrication and pressing, is seeking to enhance their workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, with thickness ranging from 1mm to 20mm.
- Interpret and work from engineering schematics.
- Engage in jig fabrication.
- Utilize problem-solving skills effectively.
- Conduct dressing and finishing of products.
- Accurately mark and identify materials.
- Ensure finished products meet specified standards.
- Handle one-off prototypes as well as medium batch production tasks.
- Adhere to Health and Safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Demonstrate familiarity with hand tools and machinery.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Exhibit the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Be punctual and dependable.
- Be willing to undertake additional duties as required, including potential reassignment to different areas of the shop floor.
Required Experience:
- Proven experience in fabrication.
- Competence in MIG welding.
- Expertise in TIG welding.
- Ability to weld mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum to a high standard.
- Experience in dressing welds and graining stainless steel by hand is advantageous but not mandatory.
This position offers a 39-hour work week, operating Monday to Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:15 PM, including a one-hour lunch break.
Note: Candidates must be based in the UK and reside within a reasonable commuting distance. Sponsorship is not available; full leave to remain is required.
