About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior OD Consultant to join our team at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Organisational Development (OD) function, you will play a critical role in driving organisational change and leadership development across the Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver systemic OD and leadership interventions that link to business needs and drive impact on organisational performance.
  • Provide high-value contributions to the ODL team, delivering thought-leading, energising, and productive contributions focused on improving team contribution, service, and performance.
  • Account manage a portfolio of complex commissioned work approved by the ODL LT.
  • Develop high-trust, productive, and resilient relationships with clients and executive sponsors, and all stakeholders/participating in ODL interventions.
  • Provide expert OD practice and interventions at an individual, systemic team, and leadership system level, grounded in a 'lived sense' of dialogic practice.
  • Maximise the performance of leaders of leaders, as they lead teams of teams, in the strategic context of high complexity, high tension, 'big bet' scenarios.
  • Assess risks associated with OD interventions, suggest, and implement actions to manage any negative impacts.
  • Co-design, facilitate, and enable meaningful large group interventions.
  • Establish, maintain, and manage contractor and supplier relationships.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  • Masters in Organisational Development or related field or equivalent experience.
  • MCIPD/FCIPD or equivalent.
  • Experience of OD in a complex, multi-disciplinary, and culturally diverse organisation.
  • Providing OD consultancy to leaders at all levels, but predominantly to senior leaders.
  • Managing complex client projects involving a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience of working in a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous environment (VUCA).
  • Experience of designing interventions applying both a diagnostic and dialogic approach.
  • Experience of organisational change and its complexities.
  • Experience of developing and delivering leadership development.
  • Applying specialist knowledge of a wide range of organisational and personal development tools and processes.
  • Planning and delivering complex events and programmes of development.
  • Successfully working collaboratively across professions, services, and organisational boundaries.
  • Experience of implementing talent management and succession planning approaches.
