Project DescriptionThis international collaborative funding initiative in telecommunications research aims to enhance and solidify the network and research partnerships between researchers based in the UK and India.
Projects are anticipated to connect and operate simultaneously with the ongoing UK-India Future Networks Initiative. Each project must have two leads: one from a UK research institution and the other from an Indian research institution that qualifies for funding from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and the Department of Science & Technology (DST) in India.
Eligibility for EPSRC funding requires that the project lead is affiliated with a UK research organization.
Applicants and their organizations must meet the eligibility criteria set by their respective national funding agencies.
Each application will feature a project lead from a UK research organization eligible for UKRI funding and a project lead from an Indian research organization eligible for DST funding.
The expectation is that the UK project lead and related expenses for UK research will be funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), while the Indian project lead and associated costs for research conducted in India will be funded by DST.
Eligibility CriteriaIndian project leads and international project co-leads should be scientists or faculty members holding regular positions in universities, academic institutions, and national research and development laboratories. It is essential that the Indian project lead or co-lead is not planning to retire or leave their institution during the project's duration. Furthermore, Indian scientists involved in multiple projects funded by DST that are not expected to conclude by a specified date are ineligible to be part of the research team or serve as project leads.
International CollaborationInternational project co-leads may be based in institutions located in Norway.
Resubmission PolicyUninvited resubmissions of projects previously submitted to UKRI or any other funding body will not be accepted.
