We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Labcorp Drug Development in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
As a Trainee Scientist in our Genetic Toxicology department, you will have the opportunity to develop your existing lab skills, cross-train in different laboratories, and gain a wide variety of skills. You will be working with world-renowned research techniques and will have the chance to make a real impact in the field of Genetic Toxicology.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain lab cleanliness, supplies, and tidiness, including cleaning, calibrations, reagent preparation, and disposal.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and equipment records within laboratory areas.
- Assist in the production of laboratory worksheets for standard assays.
- Assist in the preparation and performance of standard assays in the base lab area.
- Learn to prepare solutions of all materials required to perform assays.
- Perform maintenance of laboratory equipment and equipment records.
- Assist with the preparation and performance of non-standard assays in the base lab area.
- Learn to monitor Gene Tox site-specific temperature monitoring systems for equipment in the base lab area.
- Learn to respond to alarm events for equipment monitored by Gene Tox site-specific temperature monitoring systems in the base lab area.
- Document Quality Events (deviations) using the Veeva QMS system.

Requirements:
- Educated to BSc level in a relevant life science subject.
- Knowledge and understanding of Good Laboratory Practice.
- Previous experience of pipetting and aseptic techniques preferred.
- Methodical with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately read, record, and communicate information.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
- Familiarity with standard spreadsheet and word-processing software applications.
- Communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
