We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Scientist to join our Dispensary lab in the Genetic Toxicology department at our pre-clinical development site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

As a Trainee Scientist, you will have the opportunity to develop your existing lab skills, cross-train in different laboratories, and gain a wide variety of skills. You will be working with world-renowned research techniques and contributing to the improvement of health and lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of formulations and materials for use in other laboratory areas, adhering to GLP compliant systems.
  • Maintaining lab cleanliness, supplies, and tidiness, including cleaning, calibrations, reagent preparation, and disposal.
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and equipment records within laboratory areas.
  • Accurate recording and data checking.
  • Meeting production deadlines required by customers both internally and externally.
  • Acknowledging safe receipt of a test compound to the client within 24 hours of arrival within the department.

Requirements:

  • Educated to BSc level in a relevant life science subject.

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to accurately read, record, and communicate information.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Familiarity with standard spreadsheet and word-processing software applications.
