Role Overview: As a Facilities Manager at The Crown Estate, you will play a crucial role in delivering outstanding facilities services to clients within our managed properties. Your main objective will be to ensure that operations are in line with industry best practices while supporting our business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operational management of facilities, ensuring compliance with key performance indicators and contractual obligations.
- Lead initiatives aimed at improving customer satisfaction across your portfolio.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients regarding daily building operations.
- Work closely with surveyors to address client concerns that may impact valuation and investment.
- Manage the financial aspects of properties, including budget development, variance analysis, and service charge reconciliation.
- Source supplies and services in line with established protocols, prioritizing quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Uphold high standards of health and safety, adhering to risk management practices.
- Support sustainability efforts, including water hygiene and asbestos management.
- Oversee reactive maintenance and service needs promptly.
- Coordinate significant projects and scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Implement emergency preparedness plans and conduct drills.
- Maintain accurate site records and documentation.
- Create and update occupier handbooks for each location.
- Monitor unoccupied properties to ensure adherence to insurance requirements.
- Prepare properties for sale, addressing due diligence inquiries from a facilities perspective.
Qualifications:
- Strong commercial insight with the ability to recognize opportunities for business improvement.
- Excellent stakeholder management capabilities and effective communication of business concepts.
- Experience with service charges.
- Background in property management, corporate facilities management, or a related discipline.
- Proactive in advocating for change and facilitating operational improvements.
- Relevant qualifications in facilities management or a related area (e.g., IWFM).
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Results-oriented with a commitment to safety, quality, and cost efficiency.
