Creative Arts Facilitator - Summer Program

Working Hours: 08:30 - 17:30

Compensation: £559.17 weekly salary based on age, experience, and qualifications.

Reporting To: Camp Senior Team, Area Manager, and Central Office. Barracudas is dedicated to the safety and well-being of children and young individuals, and we expect all personnel to uphold this commitment.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ARTS FACILITATOR

  • Establish and maintain an inviting Arts & Crafts area, ensuring it is organized and well-stocked.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures to guarantee a fun and secure environment for children.
  • Design and implement a diverse range of engaging and safe creative activities suitable for various age groups.
  • Provide safety guidelines and equipment demonstrations, ensuring compliance.
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members who may assist in your sessions.
  • Take charge of the overall welfare and safeguarding of the children.
  • Ensure the needs of the children are met through active supervision and attention throughout the day, including during breaks and meal times.
  • Create prototypes for display purposes.
  • Encourage full participation from all children in the group.
  • Oversee the Discovery Squad skills builder, ensuring resources and equipment are utilized effectively.
  • Depending on camp size, collaborate with other Arts Facilitators, sharing responsibilities and communication.
  • Ensure the safe operation of equipment used during sessions.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the site/base rooms and ensure all equipment is properly stored.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Arts and Crafts is essential.
  • Must be 18 years or older by the contract start date.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK is required.
  • Provision of satisfactory professional or academic references is necessary.
  • Must possess enthusiasm, care, organization, excellent communication skills, and the ability to take initiative.
  • Obtain an enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or possess an existing enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
  • Attend a Virtual Assessment Event if new to Barracudas.
  • Complete annual Online Training.
  • Participate in an Induction Training Day prior to the first working season.
  • Assist with the camp's end-of-season pack-up.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety regulations by following instructions and maintaining a proactive approach to safety.
  • All organized activities must be suitable for the children based on your qualifications and knowledge.
  • Encourage children to engage in new activities, adhering to the scheduled program.
  • Ensure children under your supervision behave safely, maintaining awareness of their whereabouts and respecting them as individuals.
  • Follow all camp systems, including registration, collection procedures, and Health and Safety guidelines, while supporting colleagues in doing the same.
  • Assist the team with additional responsibilities as assigned during your contracted period.
  • Serve as a positive role model by promoting a healthy lifestyle and good hygiene practices.
  • Report any Child Protection concerns to the Senior Team or a designated person at Central Office.
  • Make reasonable adjustments to accommodate children with additional needs or medical conditions.
  • Depending on staff availability, you may be required to conduct Skills Builder sessions.
  • All staff may need to support swimming sessions; appropriate swimwear is required.
