Teaching Assistant (SEN) - Early Years

We are seeking a dedicated and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team in Waltham Forest.

About the Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide engaging and play-based learning experiences for children with special educational needs.

You will assist in implementing personalized support plans and interventions, helping children develop their social, emotional, and academic skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the class teacher in providing individualized learning experiences for children with SEN
  • Assisting in implementing personalized support plans and interventions
  • Working closely with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and parents to ensure each child receives the right level of support
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where children feel valued and supported
  • Monitoring and recording children's progress, providing feedback to the teacher and SENCO
Requirements

We are looking for an experienced and patient individual who has worked with young children with special educational needs, ideally in an early years setting.

A strong ability to build relationships with children, excellent communication and teamwork skills, and a Level 2/3 qualification in Childcare or Special Educational Needs are desirable but not essential.
