Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a SEMH Teaching Assistant. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal development of students with Special Educational Needs and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teaching staff in the classroom with learning and provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs.
- Work closely with students and small groups to eliminate barriers within the curriculum and make learning more accessible.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with the teaching staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with SEMH needs.
Requirements:
- Degree-level qualification in a relevant field (e.g., education, psychology, social work).
- Previous experience working with children, including those with SEMH needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of students and staff.
