Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Five Education Recruitment Limited. As a Teaching Assistant for Special Needs, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Special Education Needs (SEN) and/or mental health challenges in a specialist secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to pupils with SEN, promoting their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils with daily living skills, such as personal care and mobility.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting pupils.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in supporting individuals with SEND, such as Autism.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviors and maintain a calm, professional demeanor.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
