About Us: Govanhill Housing Association is a prominent, community-driven Registered Social Landlord serving the Govanhill and Merrylee areas of Glasgow. We manage approximately 2, homes and offer a Factoring Service to an additional 1, private homeowners.

Our Mission: The Association is dedicated to a significant Capital Investment Programme, focusing on the acquisition and enhancement of tenemental properties, alongside a new build initiative. We collaborate closely with our subsidiary, Govanhill Community Development Trust, which provides essential community development and regeneration services that align with our role as a social landlord.

Position Overview: We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Housing Services Apprentice to join our Tenancy Services division. This entry-level position offers comprehensive training in various aspects of tenancy management and service delivery to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with tenancy allocations and void management.
  • Address issues related to anti-social behavior.
  • Support tenancy and estate management activities.
  • Collaborate with tenancy services staff to ensure efficient team operations.

Your development will be bolstered by an exceptional in-house training program, providing you with the opportunity to earn a Chartered Institute of Housing Qualification.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Word and Excel).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Empathy and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good organizational and time management abilities.

This role is ideal for individuals seeking to launch their professional journey in housing. Applicants should highlight transferable skills in their application, drawing from experiences in educational settings, volunteer work, extracurricular activities, or other relevant roles.

Training and Development: To successfully complete the Housing Services Apprentice program, candidates must achieve the CIH Level 4 in Housing and the SVQ & SCQF Level 6 in Housing, along with the SCQF Level 4 Core Skills. Support will be provided to help attain these qualifications. Completion of these qualifications, combined with the experience gained during the apprenticeship, will enable candidates to pursue Assistant or Administration roles within a Housing Association.
