Job Title: Technical Support Manager/Trials Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Support Manager/Trials Manager to join our team in the Midlands or South UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to work from home or hybrid, with a competitive salary ranging from £40,000-£45,000, plus a company car or truck and fuel.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out field trials as determined with the Technical Director & Commercial Director. This will involve liaising with farmers/agronomists to ensure timely provision of sites for trials work, managing & liaising with external trials contractors as required, and liaising with agchem manufacturers & seed suppliers for the necessary trials products.

The ideal candidate will have a degree qualification from an appropriate university, a minimum of 3 years trials experience, and appropriate qualifications for spraying, handling chemicals, etc (PA1 & PA6). They will also have IT experience regarding setting trials protocols, entering data & data analysis, and IT skills regarding trials results presentations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that trials work is carried out to high standard & that sites are well maintained & presented. They will also be responsible for helping with the setting of trials protocols, collecting & analysing data, writing reports & assisting with preparation of presentations utilising that data.

The role will also involve maintaining a dialogue with manufacturers at a technical level, taking part in appropriate manufacturer/external 3rd party technical meetings, and managing & developing the technical section of the SharePoint based intranet.

  • IT skills regarding trials results presentations
  • BASIS (& preferably FACTS)
  • Clean driving license
  • Location – preferably eastern/southeastern England (midlands south)
