Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Building Surveyor to collaborate with our esteemed clients in the housing sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive building surveying activities related to the assessment, specification, and execution of construction and associated tasks for residential properties.
  • Engage contractors to perform building and related services in accordance with client protocols or utilize established procurement frameworks such as Schedule of Rates contracts.
  • Serve as the Contract Administrator for assigned construction projects, which includes issuing site directives and approving payment requests.
  • When necessary, commission specialized assessments regarding proposed works, such as structural evaluations or hazardous material removal. Collaborate with engineering personnel and external vendors of specialized equipment for individuals with disabilities.
  • Work alongside other professionals involved in construction initiatives, including occupational therapists and housing advisors, to provide technical guidance and facilitate collaborative efforts.
  • Perform feasibility assessments, conduct structural and condition evaluations of various buildings, and offer insights on maintenance and repair considerations, particularly for properties accommodating individuals with disabilities.
  • Maintain precise documentation of casework and projects, utilizing computerized systems for ordering and record-keeping, including computer-aided design tools.
  • Address written inquiries, complaints, and correspondence effectively.
  • Stay informed about advancements in building practices, materials, legislation, and regulations pertinent to the responsibilities of the role.
