Electrical Maintenance Team Leader
Compensation
- £23.94 per hour / £909.72 per week / £47,305 per annum
Work Schedule
- Double Day Shift:
- Week 1 - Monday/Thursday 6:00am to 2:00pm and Friday 6:00am to 12:00pm
- Week 2 - Monday/Thursday 2:00pm to 10:00pm and Friday 12:00pm to 6:00pm
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a group of electrical engineers in partnership with departmental leaders to ensure a proactive approach to scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs.
Responsible for overseeing the site's maintenance operations, collaborating with the Operations team to ensure adherence to production schedules by minimizing engineering downtime and enhancing the performance and efficiency of existing equipment through timely repairs and ongoing improvements.
- Hands-on involvement in maintenance tasks
- Maintain a tidy, safe, and organized workspace
- Exhibit safe practices and comply with all safety protocols
- Promote a culture of safety awareness to reduce incidents and near misses
- Ensure the site meets and upholds necessary GMP standards
- Provide coverage on a 6-2 alternating work pattern
- Engage in project work as assigned, including panel assembly
- Respond to machinery breakdowns and ensure all actions are documented in the CMMS (Shire)
- Offer first-line maintenance support to manufacturing teams
- Monitor production lines to enhance efficiency
- Execute planned and scheduled maintenance tasks, documenting work completed or needed in the CMMS (Shire)
- Provide insights for improving the planned maintenance system
- Document planned maintenance tasks and breakdowns in the CMMS (Shire)
- Order spare parts and coordinate with Engineering Stores
- Assist with the installation and decommissioning of machinery
- Participate in both electrical and mechanical proactive and reactive maintenance to the best of your abilities
- Diagnose equipment failures and respond appropriately
- Communicate and escalate issues as necessary
- Conduct routine safety and maintenance inspections of equipment
- Ensure all tasks comply with statutory and safety regulations
- Guarantee that machinery operates efficiently to produce high-quality products
- Collaborate with and support other departments in the overall factory operations
- Train others as needed for development and compliance purposes
- Identify personal training needs and work with management to establish a timeline for achievement
- Contribute to and help implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, safety, efficiency, and reduce waste
- Participate in Continuous Improvement teams as required
- Maintain daily communication with Team Leaders and Managers to ensure that project and maintenance priorities are clearly understood
- Provide coaching and training to colleagues as needed
Qualifications
- Completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Knowledge of 18th edition regulations is advantageous.
