Job Overview

The Kid Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for childcare and possess strong leadership skills to manage a team effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of childcare professionals to provide high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5 years.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the nursery meets the highest standards of childcare and education.
  • Manage the nursery's budget and resources to ensure efficient use of funds.
  • Collaborate with parents and external agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.
  • Ensure the nursery meets all regulatory requirements and maintains a GOOD or OUTSTANDING rating from OFSTED.

Requirements

  • Hold a childcare qualification to level 5 and above.
  • Have post-qualification experience of working with children aged 0-5 years.
  • Have previous senior management experience (3-5 years).
  • Demonstrate experience of managing a GOOD or OUTSTANDING setting.

Skills and Qualities

  • Ability to lead a team, developing positive relationships with colleagues, parents, children, and external agencies.
  • Experience of OFSTED inspections and maintaining a GOOD or OUTSTANDING rating.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of electronic learning journals.
  • Knowledge and understanding of different levels of child development.
  • Knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework.
  • Excellent organisational ability.
  • Ability to mentor and motivate the team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate a professional approach to childcare.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time position.
  • Salary: £27,000.00-£33,500.00 per year.
  • Company pension and employee discount.
  • Monday to Friday schedule.
