Mechanical Reliability Engineer

Compensation

  • £21.03 per hour / £799.14 weekly / £41,555.28 annually

Work Schedule

  • Double day shifts
  • 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM & 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (Monday - Thursday)
  • 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM & 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM (Fridays)
  • 38 hours per week

Position Overview

The role involves collaborating with the Operations team to ensure adherence to the production schedule by reducing engineering downtime and enhancing the availability, performance, and efficiency of existing machinery through ongoing improvement strategies.

Responsibilities include providing timely and effective responses to equipment failures and ensuring that scheduled maintenance tasks are completed punctually and thoroughly in accordance with site Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) protocols.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Execute tasks to guarantee that the site meets and upholds necessary Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
  • Support the production team during double day shifts and occasionally on weekends.
  • Oversee the completion of PPM, offering updates and feedback to enhance the planned maintenance framework.
  • Address emergency breakdowns and ensure all actions taken are documented in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Conduct machinery overhauls and work on sub-assemblies as required.
  • Fabricate machine components as necessary.
  • Engage in both electrical and mechanical maintenance activities proactively and reactively to the best of your abilities.
  • Communicate and escalate issues as needed when additional support is required.
  • Update plant parameters and set points according to site Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure that machinery and equipment operate efficiently to produce high-quality products.
  • Collaborate with and support other departments in the overall operation of the facility.
  • Provide training to others as necessary for development and compliance purposes.
  • Identify personal training needs and work with management to establish a timeline for achieving these goals.
  • Contribute to and assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing quality, safety, efficiency, and reducing waste.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement teams as required.
  • Maintain daily communication with Team Leaders and Managers to ensure that maintenance and production priorities are clearly understood.
  • Coordinate with Engineering Stores to ensure that spare parts are available for both planned and emergency maintenance tasks.
