Job Title: Data Protection Officer - Compliance Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Officer to join our team at QED Legal. As a Data Protection Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring our organization's compliance with data protection legislation, including the UK GDPR.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitor our compliance with data protection legislation, ensuring that our systems and processes are in line with the UK GDPR and other relevant regulations.
  • Data Protection Audits: Conduct regular data protection audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure that our data protection practices are robust and effective.
  • System Oversight: Oversee all data protection systems and processes, ensuring that they are secure, efficient, and compliant with data protection legislation.
  • Privacy Notices: Develop and maintain privacy notices that are clear, concise, and compliant with data protection legislation.
  • DPIAs: Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to identify and mitigate potential data protection risks.
  • Policies and Procedures: Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies and procedures that are compliant with data protection legislation.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a data protection role, ideally within a law firm.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of data protection legislation, including the UK GDPR. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Education: Relevant qualifications in data protection or a related field.
