Quantity Surveyor Opportunity at Gleeson Development Ltd

Gleeson Development Ltd is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our Regional Commercial team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in delivering the Group Business plan, Commercial objectives, budgets, and future growth requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in commercial activities, supporting the implementation, control, and reporting of all development/build-related expenditure.
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members, sharing your knowledge and expertise to support their career development.
  • Actively manage build and infrastructure costs, cash flows, cost movements, and variations at site and plot level, adhering to Group policies and processes.
  • Manage working partnerships with Housing Associations, third-party providers, and sub-contractors to ensure contractual terms are met and orders are placed, managed, and settled according to Group policies and procedures.
  • Procure subcontract trades involving other internal departments, ensuring the best value is obtained and subcontractor prequalification criteria is met.
Requirements:
  • A relevant qualification or good experience in Quantity Surveying.
  • Proficient user of COINS and MS Excel packages.
  • A good understanding of the financial implications of build methods and sequences.
  • Good finance/commercial awareness and technical knowledge.
  • Good knowledge of the Construction Industry, commercial and financial management systems, and controls.
  • Knowledge of Construction Design Management Regulations and codes of practice impacting commercial matters.
  • Ability to positively influence others to ensure commercial budgets, policies, and standards are respected and managed.
