Position Overview

We are seeking a Heritage Collections Coordinator to become a vital part of our Archive and Heritage team within the Creative Engagement department. This role is part-time and is designed for a fixed term.

The Southbank Centre Archive houses an extensive collection, comprising over 3000 boxes and 1.5 kilometers of diverse materials, including documents, photographs, artifacts, recordings, and digital content. This collection narrates the rich history of the Southbank Centre, originating from its inception during the Festival of Britain.

As we embark on a new strategic vision for the archive, we aim to enhance public engagement and celebrate our heritage in innovative ways. Our focus is on creating accessible pathways to the collection in anticipation of significant anniversaries.

The Heritage Collections Coordinator will spearhead our participatory collections management initiative. Collaborating closely with the public, archive personnel, and creative engagement teams, you will design and facilitate workshops that align with the archive's priorities. Additionally, you will manage our research and inquiry service, ensuring excellent access to the collection for academics, artists, and the general public.
