About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Caseworker to join our team in North Yorkshire. As an Independent Victim Advisor (IVA), you will play a vital role in supporting victims of crime, providing them with the necessary assistance and advocacy to navigate the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with adults and children who have been impacted by crime, assessing their support needs and providing immediate and ongoing support and advocacy.
  • Provide information to victims about their rights as outlined in the Victim's Code of Practice.
  • Explain processes and act as a single point of contact throughout the victim's journey in the criminal justice system.
  • Develop relationships with other organizations that support victims of crime.

Requirements:

  • A self-starter with good organizational and time management skills.
  • An excellent communicator.
  • Able to work across teams and with external agencies to achieve goals.
  • Comfortable working in a digital environment and able to use a range of IT equipment and programs.
  • An understanding of crime and its impact on individuals and communities.
