Distribution Centre Operations Manager

Overview

We are in search of a skilled and proactive Distribution Centre Operations Manager to oversee and guide our DC Team, ensuring the smooth and effective processing of all retail and online orders.

The ideal candidate will be tasked with managing teams, engaging with various departments within the Merchandising sector, and upholding operational excellence.

This position involves liaising with Retail Stores across multiple regions, as well as supporting E-commerce platforms and collaborating with product, purchasing, and trading teams on product-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire, lead, and supervise teams of Supervisors, taking overall responsibility for the Intake and Distribution teams while fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment within the Distribution Centre.
  • Work alongside a third-party logistics provider to guarantee the efficient dispatch and delivery of all retail and online orders. Continuously monitor and drive improvement initiatives in collaboration with logistics partners.
  • Enhance efficiencies, manage productivity, and oversee cost control throughout the distribution operations.
  • Ensure adherence to all necessary Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in a safe, legal, and efficient manner.
  • Oversee product quality control, swiftly addressing any issues and implementing corrective measures.
  • Assist the Facilities Manager in effectively managing maintenance repairs, renewals, and security protocols within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures within the Distribution Centre. Conduct risk assessments, regular inspections, and manage service agreements.

Candidate Profile

This role is pivotal within the Distribution Centre, responsible for a significant number of full-time employees and additional agency or casual staff during peak periods.

The position requires strong relationship-building skills and the ability to adapt to various internal and external stakeholders. Acting as a primary contact for key stakeholders, providing and maintaining a professional service is essential to success as a representative of Liverpool Football Club.

Flexibility to respond to business needs is crucial, and certain tasks will require the role holder to handle information and responsibilities with the utmost confidentiality.

There will be significant process improvement initiatives to lead and contribute to, alongside the implementation of a new Warehouse Management System (WMS) designed to enhance efficiency, requiring the individual to spearhead the adoption of new operational methods.
