Position: Safety and Compliance Manager
Our client is seeking a dedicated Safety and Compliance Manager to join their esteemed Civil Engineering contracting firm. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and wellbeing within the organization.
About the Company: The organization is a reputable Civil Engineering contractor, engaged in projects from initial design through to successful completion. Their expertise encompasses a diverse range of sectors, including water management, infrastructure development, and coastal defense.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all facets of Health, Safety & Wellbeing, taking charge of the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal safety management plans during design and construction activities.
- Coordinate drug and alcohol testing procedures in alignment with corporate policies.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to uphold high standards and meet project objectives.
- Participate in Health and Safety meetings to discuss ongoing initiatives and improvements.
Position Requirements:
- A recognized qualification in Health & Safety, such as NEBOSH Construction or equivalent.
- Proven experience in managing diverse teams and implementing performance expectations and wellbeing programs.
- Strong understanding of health and safety principles, compliance, and legislation.
- Possession of a CSCS card and SEATS / Mental Health First Aid certification is desirable.
- Familiarity with CDM Regulations and internal safety management plans.
- A valid driving license is required.
