We are seeking a dedicated Bars Manager to oversee operations within a prominent University Student Union. This role offers a unique opportunity to manage multiple bars and event spaces, including a large traditional student bar and a smaller venue for live performances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations, including staff scheduling and team development.
- Achieve and surpass financial targets, with weekly revenue expectations of £15,000 to £20,000.
- Handle bar opening and closing procedures, including cash management and financial reconciliation.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering and stock assessments.
- Collaborate with student organizations to promote events and activities.
- Deliver high-quality products and efficient service consistently.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and licensing laws.
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience as a Bars Manager or Assistant General Manager in a busy bar or event setting.
- Strong financial acumen with a focus on achieving gross profit and labor cost targets.
- A positive, proactive approach with a desire for long-term career growth.
This position offers a competitive starting salary of up to £36,396, with potential annual increases up to £39,980. Additional benefits include an impressive holiday allowance of 41 days per year, including bank holidays, and the option to purchase additional leave. A generous pension scheme with employer contributions starting at 16%, increasing to 21% after three years, along with life assurance and extensive training opportunities, are also included.
