About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Worker to join our team at Whinnieknowe, a care home located in the heart of Nairn. As a key worker for designated service users, you will be responsible for developing and reviewing care plans, assisting with personal and intimate care, and helping with the use of any aids or equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review care plans to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users
  • Assist with personal and intimate care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
  • Help service users with the use of aids and equipment, such as wheelchairs and walking frames
  • Liaise with health professionals as needed to ensure the best possible care for service users
  • Support mental and physical activities, such as exercise classes and arts and crafts
  • Maintain a high standard of personal environment and effects, including cleaning and laundry
  • Monitor nutritional needs and assist with meal preparation and serving
  • Answer emergency calls and respond to service user needs in a timely and professional manner
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of care plans and policies
  • Work on a rota basis, including weekends and evenings, to ensure 24-hour care coverage
Requirements
  • Hold or be working towards an SVQ 3 in Social Care
  • Have basic computer literacy skills
  • Be able to work within CrossReach's Christian ethos and respect the beliefs and values of service users
  • Be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and meet the standards and criteria for registration
  • Be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undergo the necessary vetting checks
